Retail trade, September 2022
Retail sales decreased 0.5% to $61.1 billion in September. Sales declined in 7 of the 11 subsectors, led by sales at gasoline stations (-2.4%) and food and beverage stores (-1.3%).
Wholesale trade: Early indicator, October 2022
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for October. The advance results for October indicate that wholesale sales rose 1.3%. The increase largely reflects higher sales in the building material and supplies subsector.
Consolidated Canadian Government Finance Statistics, 2021
The consolidated Canadian general government deficit (which includes all federal, provincial, territorial and local governments) dropped sharply from $291.9 billion in 2020 to $99.0 billion in 2021, a 66.1% decrease.
New Housing Price Index, October 2022
New home prices in Canada declined by 0.2% month over month in October, following the 0.1% decline recorded in the previous month. Prices were up in 5 of the 27 census metropolitan areas (CMAs) surveyed, down in 7 of them, and unchanged in the remaining 15. This was the first consecutive monthly decrease in the index since July 2019.

Canadian postsecondary enrolments and graduates, 2020/2021
In the 2020/2021 academic year, the COVID-19 pandemic became a major disruption in colleges and universities across the country, with most institutions cancelling in-person classes and moving to virtual learning. Public health restrictions along with domestic and international border crossing limits had an impact on the Canadian postsecondary system.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Flash estimate, October 2022
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for October. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales rose 2.0% in October. The largest increases were in the food, chemical and petroleum and coal product industries.
