Survey of Innovation and Business Strategy, 2015 to 2017
The percentage of innovative enterprises increased 12.5 percentage points to 79.3% in 2015-2017, up from 66.8% in 2007-2009 and 63.5% in 2010-2012.
Canadian Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey, 2017
In 2017, similar proportions of Canadians aged 15 and older reported currently smoking cigarettes (15%) or consuming cannabis in the past 12 months (15%). The percentages reporting having consumed alcohol, cannabis, tobacco and other illegal drugs tended to be higher among males and those aged 20 to 24.
Monthly civil aviation statistics, August 2018
The six Canadian Level I air carriers flew a record 8.5 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in August, up 5.3% from August 2017 and continuing the upward year-over-year monthly trend that began in April 2014.
Poultry and egg statistics, October 2018
Stocks of frozen poultry meat in cold storage increased 5.8% from October 1, 2017, to 90 930 tonnes on October 1, 2018. Ontario continued to hold the largest share of frozen poultry meat stocks, accounting for 49.4% of stocks on October 1, 2018, compared with 43.1% on October 1, 2017.
Production and value of ranch-raised pelts, 2017
There were 3.0 million ranch-raised fur pelts sold in 2017, compared with 2.1 million pelts in 2016.
Energy consumption by the manufacturing sector, 2017
The manufacturing sector consumed 2 172 petajoules of energy as part of the production process in 2017, up 1.8% from 2016.
