Canadian international merchandise trade, August 2021
Canada’s merchandise exports increased 0.8% in August, while imports decreased 1.4%. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade balance with the world remained in a surplus position, widening from $736 million in July to $1.9 billion in August.
Canadian international trade in services, August 2021
Canada’s monthly international trade in services deficit widened from $119 million in July to $361 million in August. Overall, imports of services increased 3.7% to $10.1 billion, and exports were up 1.3% to $9.7 billion.

Lumber production by sawmills decreased 14.8% from June to 4 199.4 thousand cubic metres in July. Production was 7.0% lower than in July 2020.
