Foreign direct investment, 2017
The stock of Canadian direct investment abroad rose 3.4% to $1,121.1 billion in 2017 as increased investment activity in Europe and North America was partially offset by the downward revaluation effect of a stronger Canadian dollar against the US dollar.
Greenhouse, sod and nursery industries, 2017
Total sales of the greenhouse, nursery, field cut flowers and sod industries increased 2.2% to $3.8 billion in 2017.
Dairy statistics, February 2018
The total supply of creamery butter reached 40 638 tonnes in February, up 61.0% from February 2017.
Milled wheat and wheat flour produced, February 2018
Millers milled 240 530 tonnes of wheat in February, while wheat flour production totalled 182 971 tonnes.
Quarterly civil aviation statistics, fourth quarter 2017
Total operating revenue for the 26 largest Canadian air carriers increased 13.2% from the fourth quarter of 2016 to $5.8 billion in the fourth quarter of 2017. Total operating expenses grew 11.3% to $5.5 billion.
Railway carloadings, February 2018
The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 27.2 million tonnes in February, down 0.2% from February 2017.
Rail transportation, 2016
Canadian railway lines had operating revenue of $13.8 billion in 2016, down 4.0% from 2015. The drop was largely attributable to lower operating revenue for freight transportation.
