Wholesale trade, October 2017
Wholesale sales increased 1.5% to $63.0 billion in October, more than offsetting the 1.1% decline in September. Gains were reported in six of seven subsectors, together representing 81% of total wholesale sales.
Payroll employment, earnings and hours, October 2017
Average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were $983 in October, virtually unchanged from the previous month. Following little year-over-year growth throughout most of 2016, earnings have increased at a faster pace in 2017. Compared with October 2016, earnings rose 3.1%.

The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 33 million tonnes in October, up 5.3% from October 2016.
Métis family networks and hospitalization
Social networks are important for promoting and maintaining health and well-being. Métis men and women with strong family networks reported better mental health than those with weak networks. This is among the findings of a study released today in the publication Health Reports that examines associations between family networks and self-perceived health among Métis aged 45 or older.

Millers milled 270 421 tonnes of wheat in October, while wheat flour production totalled 207 250 tonnes.
Oilseed crushing statistics, November 2017
Oilseed processors crushed 805 945 tonnes of canola in November. Oil production totalled 358 596 tonnes, while meal production totalled 447 709 tonnes.
