Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, January 2018
The Industrial Product Price Index rose 0.3% in January, mainly due to higher prices for energy and petroleum products. The Raw Materials Price Index increased 3.3%, primarily as a result of higher prices for crude energy products.
Non-residential capital and repair expenditures, 2016 (revised), 2017 (preliminary) and 2018 (intentions)
Private and public expenditures on non-residential construction and machinery and equipment are anticipated to rise 0.8% in 2018, following a 3.0% increase in 2017. An anticipated 3.5% increase in capital spending on machinery and equipment leads the way, while capital construction spending is expected to decline 0.6%.
Railway carloadings, December 2017
The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 30.6 million tonnes in December, up 5.5% from December 2016.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, December 2017
There were 355,899 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 91 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations in December, compared with 327,240 movements in December 2016.
Poultry and egg statistics, February 2018
Stocks of frozen poultry meat in cold storage increased 3.3% from February 1, 2017, to 77 927 tonnes on February 1, 2018.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, January 2018
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.5 billion cigarettes in January, up 32.7% from December. Cigarette production was down 6.4% compared with January 2017.
