How Canadians are safeguarding their health during the pandemic
In December 2020, Canada approved the first COVID-19 vaccine for use in the country, which is now in the beginning stages of being rolled out. In October 2020, three in four Canadians (75%) aged 12 and older reported that they are very or somewhat willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This proportion remained unchanged from September, when 75% reported that they were willing to receive the vaccine. Vaccine willingness by gender also remained unchanged, with women and men equally likely to report that they are willing to get the vaccine.
Repair and maintenance subsector generated $33.1 billion in operating revenue in 2019
Businesses in the repair and maintenance subsector generated $33.1 billion in total operating revenue in 2019, up 4.5% from 2018. Total operating expenses rose to $30.3 billion, an increase of 4.5% from the previous year. The profit margin remained unchanged at 8.5%.
Gender Results Framework: Data table on child care costs
Statistics Canada’s Centre for Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Statistics has released a new data table related to child care costs. These statistics will be used by the Gender Results Framework, a whole-of-government tool designed to track gender equality in Canada.
