Activities of multinational enterprises in Canada were significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Many of their activities declined, notably sales, employment, and their contribution to gross domestic product. On the other hand, multinational enterprises accumulated more assets and performed more research and development.
Energy statistics, November 2022
In November 2022, production of primary energy increased 4.6% to 2.0 million terajoules, with gains in most subsectors, notably natural gas (+5.3%) and crude oil (+3.0%), compared with November 2021.
Building construction price indexes, fourth quarter 2022
Residential building construction costs increased 1.0% in the fourth quarter, following a 2.5% increase in the previous quarter. Non-residential building construction costs rose 1.6% in the fourth quarter, following a 2.1% increase in the previous quarter.
