Building permits, November 2017
Canadian municipalities issued $7.7 billion in building permits in November, down 7.7% from the previous month and the first decrease in three months. All building components fell, with the exception of single family dwellings.
National tourism indicators, third quarter 2017
Tourism spending in Canada rose 1.5% in the third quarter, the same rate as in the second quarter. The increase was driven by tourism spending by Canadians at home, as spending by international visitors in Canada declined.
Leading indicator of cross-border traveller volume, December 2017
Data indicating the number of US residents entering Canada by automobile in December through land ports equipped with the automated Integrated Primary Inspection Line (IPIL) system are now available upon request. Data are available by the visitors’ state of residence and by province of entry into Canada.
