Canadian employers had 402,000 job vacancies in the third quarter, and the national job vacancy rate was 2.5%.

On the eve of the 150th anniversary of Confederation on July 1, 2017, Canada can be described as a nation of ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity. Oilseed processors crushed 831 590 tonnes of canola in December. Oil production totalled 365 225 tonnes, while meal production totalled 467 183 tonnes.

Millers milled 264 200 tonnes of wheat in November, while wheat flour production totalled 203 621 tonnes.
