Manufacturing sales declined 0.6% in May, on lower sales in 11 of 21 industries led by the machinery, chemical and fabricated metal product industries.
Industrial Product Price Index: Flash estimates, June 2021
The Industrial Product Price Index (flash estimate) decreased by 0.4% month over month in June. Year over year, the index was up 16.2%.
Experimental indexes of economic activity in the provinces and territories, March 2021
The three-month moving average of economic activity increased in a majority of provinces and territories in March. The advances represent an acceleration in growth compared with the three-month moving average for the three months ending with February.
Vast majority of Canadians willing to get vaccinated in March/April 2021
In March/April 2021, 88% of Canadians aged 12 and older reported that they were somewhat or very likely to get the COVID-19 vaccine, or had already received at least one dose, which was an increase from the period of January/February 2021 (82%).
Certified organic fruit and vegetable production estimates, 2020
In 2020, certified organic fruit and vegetable farmers grew and sold more produce, despite adverse weather conditions and labour shortages amid the pandemic. Nevertheless, certified organic production accounted for 6.4% of the total fruit and vegetables sold nationally in 2020.
