Travel between Canada and other countries, April 2018
US residents made 2.0 million trips to Canada in April, down 4.0% from March and down 2.8% from April 2017. The declines were mainly attributable to decreases in car travel.
Health Reports: Factors associated with hypertension control among older Canadians, June 2018
Hypertension affects about 1 in 4 Canadian adults, and becomes more common as people age, resulting in many negative health implications. One of the most serious is damage to blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack or stroke—two of the leading causes of hospitalization and death in Canada.
Balance sheet of the agricultural sector, December 31, 2017
Farm equity in Canada rose $34.6 billion from 2016 to $535.3 billion as of December 31, 2017. The 6.9% increase in equity follows a 4.6% gain in 2016. Farm asset values rose at a similar pace to farm liabilities.
Mushroom Growers’ Survey, 2017
Canadian mushroom growers produced 132,556 short tons of mushrooms in 2017, up 1.3% from 2016. Most of the production (94.1%) was sold to the fresh market. Canadian domestic exports of fresh or chilled Agaricus mushrooms increased 2.8% in 2017 compared with the previous year.
