National tourism indicators, first quarter 2018
Tourism spending in Canada edged up 0.2% in the first quarter, the same pace as in the previous quarter. Increased spending by international visitors in Canada was partially offset by lower tourism spending by Canadians at home.
Natural resource indicators, first quarter 2018
Real natural resource gross domestic product decreased 0.2% in the first quarter, as the mineral and mining subsector declined 2.2%. Natural resource related prices were up 4.3% due to strong price growth in energy (+5.0%).

The economic importance of the natural resource sector varies significantly among the provinces and territories. In 2016, the sector accounted for more than a quarter of the economies of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Northwest Territories, and over 20% of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Nunavut, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Air fares, fourth quarter 2017
Base air fares in Canada, domestic and international combined, averaged $227.10 in the fourth quarter, up 2.9% from the same quarter of 2016.

The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 30.5 million tonnes in April, down 2.6% from April 2017.

Membership in registered pension plans (RPPs) in Canada totalled 6,262,900 in 2016, up 1,100 members from 2015.
Trafficking in persons in Canada, 2016
Trafficking in persons, or human trafficking, is a global issue and a phenomenon difficult to measure. It is highly underreported due to its hidden nature. According to the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey, there were 340 incidents of human trafficking in 2016, accounting for about 0.02% of all criminal incidents reported by the police. These violations represented a rate of about 1 incident for every 100,000 Canadians.
