Childhood National Immunization Coverage Survey, 2015
Routine childhood vaccines that are part of provincial and territorial publicly funded vaccination programs are free for all Canadian families. In 2015, most parents (89%) reported that their children’s vaccinations were completely up to date.
Food Services and Drinking Places, April 2017
Following a 0.8% decline in March, sales in the food services and drinking places subsector rose 1.4% to $5.6 billion in April, continuing an upward trend for 2017. Prices for food purchased from restaurants were up 2.5% compared to April 2016, while prices for alcoholic beverages were up 1.8%. One factor that may have contributed to the gains was the strong tourism numbers. In April 2017, Canada saw a 2.9% increase in travellers from abroad.
Railway carloadings, April 2017
The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 31.4 million tonnes in April, up 11.3% from the same month last year.
Air fares, fourth quarter 2016
Base air fares in Canada, domestic and international combined, averaged $220.70 in the fourth quarter, down 5.0% from the same quarter in 2015 and continuing a downward trend that began in the second quarter of 2015.
Business and employment dynamics data at the national level, 2015
Based on new annual estimates, the entry and exit rates for private sector businesses in 2015 were virtually the same as in 2014. An estimated 12.4% of businesses began operations in 2015, compared with 11.4% that ceased operations.
