Building permits, January 2017
The value of building permits issued by Canadian municipalities rose 5.4% to $7.6 billion in January, following two consecutive monthly decreases. Six provinces posted increases, led by Alberta and British Columbia. Nationally, construction intentions rose in every component, particularly institutional buildings.

More than 80% of women in Canada aged 25 to 54 participated in the labour market in 2015, compared with just over 20% in 1950. A smaller proportion of men participated in the labour market in 2015 (90.9%) than in 1950 (97.1%).

Labour productivity of Canadian businesses rose 0.4% in the fourth quarter, following a 1.2% gain in the third quarter.

Annual demographic estimates by age and sex for census divisions, census metropolitan areas and economic regions as of July 1, 2016, are now available. Revised estimates as of July 1 for the years 2012 to 2015 are also available.
Employer pension plans (trusteed pension funds), third quarter 2016
The market value of employer-sponsored pension funds grew 3.9% in the third quarter of 2016 to $1.7 trillion, following a 1.8% increase in the second quarter.
