Consumer Price Index, April 2019
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.0% on a year-over-year basis in April, following a 1.9% increase in March. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.3% in April.
Study: Earnings of immigrants and children of immigrants in official language minority populations
In Canada, the vitality and growth of official language minorities—the French-speaking population living outside Quebec, and the English-speaking population living in Quebec—depend in large part on immigration. In turn, attracting and retaining immigrants largely depend on positive economic outcomes for these families.

Families in Canada are becoming increasingly diverse. As a growing number of adults experience separation and divorce over their lifetime, the number of people who marry or live common law multiple times has also increased. This results in changes in family sizes, structures and life stories.
Health Reports: Does geography matter in mortality? An analysis of potentially avoidable mortality by remoteness index in Canada
Canadians who live in remote areas are more likely than those in easily accessible areas to die prematurely of preventable and treatable causes. This is one of the findings of a new study released today in the publication Health Reports.
