The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.5% on a year-over-year basis in September, up from a 0.1% increase in August. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.1% in September, matching the increase in August.
New Housing Price Index, September 2020
Prices of new homes surged across the nation in September, the largest jump in 14 years.
Retail trade, August 2020
Retail sales rose 0.4% to $53.2 billion in August—the fourth consecutive monthly increase since the record decline in April, led by higher sales at building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers and food and beverage stores.
Inpatient palliative care related to fewer intensive care admissions
Receipt of inpatient palliative care is associated with lower odds of an intensive care admission. Furthermore, receipt of palliative care more than 30 days before death is also associated with lower odds of death in hospital and use of alternate level of care beds. These are some of the findings from a new study released today in Health Reports.
