Foreign control in the Canadian economy, 2017
Both Canadian (+5.3%) and foreign-controlled (+2.8%) asset values increased in 2017. The foreign-controlled share of assets decreased marginally, from 16.3% in 2016 to 15.9% in 2017.
Industrial capacity utilization rates, second quarter 2019
Canadian industries operated at 83.3% of their production capacity in the second quarter, up from 81.1% in the previous quarter. This was the highest capacity utilization rate since the second quarter of 2018.

Minimum wage work is one of the key elements associated with precarious employment in Canada. In addition to lower wages, minimum wage workers are also less likely to receive non-wage benefits such as a pension plan, supplementary health benefits or paid sick leave (see the note to readers). In recent years, minimum wage employment has been of particular interest as a result of notable changes in minimum wage levels in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
Experimental New Condominium Apartment Price Index, second quarter 2019
The new condominium apartment market for the six census metropolitan area (CMA) composite cooled in the second quarter, with a modest decline of 0.1%. This followed a 1.0% increase in the previous quarter.
Employer pension plans (trusteed pension funds), first quarter 2019
The market value of assets held by Canadian trusteed pension funds totalled $1.97 trillion in the first quarter, up 5.0% from the fourth quarter of 2018 and up 3.6% year over year.
