Consumer Price Index, August 2021
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 4.1% on a year-over-year basis in August, up from a 3.7% gain in July. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.4% in August.
Industrial Product Price Index: Flash estimates, August 2021
The Industrial Product Price Index (flash estimate) decreased 0.3% in August. Year over year, the index was up 14.2%.
Lending Services Price Index, second quarter 2021

New motor vehicle sales, July 2021
Following a 3.0% increase in June, the total number of new motor vehicles sold declined 6.9% in July compared with the same period a year earlier and 12.6% from July 2019. July’s lower performance is attributable to a 7.4% decrease in the number of trucks sold, the second consecutive monthly decline for this group of vehicles. In July 2021, 1,778 fewer passenger cars (-5.0%) were sold, following a year-over-year increase of 3,381 passenger cars in June.
