The Gala of Hope is set for Oct. 24 at the Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville.
The inaugural celebration of the Hope Arises Project will engage and educate the Huntsville and larger Muskoka community in Indigenous cultures, says founder Joyce Jonathan Crone.
The Gala of Hope will be a culturally immersive experience and celebration of Indigenous cultures, said Crone, and include Indigenous appetizers to a ribbon skirt fashion show and a live auction.
“Red Girl Rising”, a short documentary featuring Crone will also be shown during the gala. This will be the local premiere of the documentary as it was first shown in the spring at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto.
