‘The Great One’ coming to Lethbridge –

He took hockey to new heights, and now ‘The Great One’ is looking to elevate entrepreneurs in Lethbridge.

Wayne Gretzky is set to speak at the biggest business event to hit southern Alberta; one that will help establish the city as a leader in the business industry. Teamworks Training Institute, Select People Solutions and the ENMAX Centre are partnering to put on the ‘Greatness in Leadership’ Management Development Day. “Anytime we start talking about great, and top level, right away the name Wayne Gretzky comes to mind as the Great One,” says Ryan Miller, CEO of Teamworks Training Ltd. “We’re large enough here in southern Alberta, we have a world class level of business happening here, and we deserve to be able to bring in this type of talent locally so we can get more people out to participate.”

Gretzky will speak about his experience as the captain of the Edmonton Oilers for their four Stanley Cup Championships and his many hockey and business experiences since then. The event will be largest of its kind in Southern Alberta and will attract plenty of business leaders from all across the province. Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge are also partners, with business and management students acting as chaperons and volunteers. “There are going to be tickets in the lower bowl available to students free of charge for them to attend this event,” says Steve Craig, Director of External Relations at the University of Lethbridge. “So it’s a great opportunity for them to not only hear the speakers that are coming, but also connect with community people.”
