Regional district officials say they are worried an Indigenous protest group that opposed the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion is becoming entrenched in the North Thompson Valley.
A Thompson-Nicola Regional District delegation met with multiple provincial ministries earlier this month, and on the agenda was mounting concerns with the Tiny House Warriors’ presence in the Blue River area, where they have been set up since 2018.
“If nothing else, we are documenting the steps the directors in that area have taken and the warnings that the TNRD has given over the years regarding the situation in the event that something does unfold, explode, increase up in that area,” TNRD chair Barbara Roden told the board at last week’s meeting.
