After working in the partisan trenches of Parliament Hill and Queen’s Park, the co-authors of an upcoming book exploring how neighbouring communities in Manitoba—a settler town and a First Nations reserve—founded two years apart became unequal are hoping to shift attitudes, and the conversation, around reconciliation from “outside of partisan politics,” and open eyes to the “broader lessons” Canada can learn.
