The 2026 Workforce Outlook: Labour Trends in a Changing Economy
Wednesday, May 20, 2026 – 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET | JP Giroux, Gustavo Jurado, Phyllis MacCallum, Darian Kovacs
Canada’s shifting labour market is creating new challenges and opportunities for career development professionals supporting clients across key sectors.
This free, live webinar addresses the critical disconnect between current talent pipelines and the evolving needs of key economic drivers: Agriculture, Mining, Manufacturing and Tourism. Grounded in State of the National Workforce 2026: Strategic Analysis and Sectoral Demand, an Indigenous-informed workforce analysis presented at the 2026 ISET National Gathering and supported by CERIC, career development professionals will gain sector-specific insights and the high-level data necessary to guide diverse clients toward high-demand, resilient career paths.
This session brings together a panel of Sector Council Presidents and Directors who will unpack the report’s findings, highlighting the specific skills and regional demands that will define the next year.
Empowering the Next Generation: Supporting Indigenous Learners
Wednesday, June 3, 2026 – 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET | Chelsie Rodriguez, Katherine Ciboci, Sarah Watts-Rynard, Allison Bear, Darian Kovacs
Supporting Indigenous learners requires culturally safe, community-rooted approaches that respond to the distinct realities of First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities.
This free, live webinar will explore how culturally competent, wraparound supports can improve education and employment outcomes for Indigenous learners. Drawing from the recent ISET National Hub report, Enhancing Educational Outcomes, the session will move beyond high-level statistics to examine practical approaches to distinctions-based support, including the role of housing, childcare, geographic access and culturally relevant services.
Bringing together Indigenous Skills and Employment Training representatives and the CEO of Polytechnics Canada, this webinar will offer insight into a holistic, person-centred career development framework focused on long-term prosperity rather than immediate job placement alone.
Webinars are hosted on Zoom through the new CERIC Learning Hub. Please review our FAQ to learn more about accessing webinars and navigating the registration process. As part of this updated process, Certificates of Completion are now available not only to participants who attend live webinars but also to those who watch the webinar recordings afterward.
