Consumer Price Index, May 2026
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 3.2% year over year in May, up from an increase of 2.8% in April. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.5% in May.
Investment in building construction, April 2026
The total value of investment in building construction increased $540.8 million (+2.3%) to $23.6 billion in April.
Urban public transit, April 2026
In April, 128.7 million passenger trips were made on urban transit networks in Canada, down 3.9% (-5.2 million rides) from April 2025.

Study: Flash estimates of selected services industries, 2025
Today, Statistics Canada is publishing a study entitled “Service industries remain resilient amid economic uncertainty in 2025.” This study presents advance estimates for key service industries for 2025, leveraging alternative data sources such as goods and services tax revenue, which is used as an indicator for operating revenue.
